€83,13 for Samu Social

Expat Club members and Expat Club have donated €83,13 to Samu Social Bruxelles. During our Christmas trip to Monschau on 29 November 2015 we visited the Monschauer Glasshütte for a magnificent glassblowing demonstration. Although the first group could witness how a several magnificent glass sculptures were created, the second batch unfortunately could not attend due to a problem with the heating system of the oven. Many participants therefore donated their prepaid fees to SamuSocial, a nonprofit organisation that focuses on the needs of homeless people in Brussels. Expat Club multiplied that amount with 25% to a total of well over €80. Samu Social operates a free phone number for people in need, mobile emergency teams, emergency shelter, psycho-social guidance and free medical consultation...

€88,57 for Hôpiclown

In May and June, Expat Club members have raised €88,57 for Hôpiclown. This nonprofit organisation’s aims “to make sick children in hospitals laugh. The voluntary workers never know what the sick children suffer from or how they are treated. The voluntary clowns work in 26 pediatric services in 4 provinces: Hainaut, Naumur, Walloon Brabant and the Brussels region. The hospitalized children are not considered as sick children but as children who have to live away from their usual environment, from their parents, friends…They can be entertained in several ways : laughing, music, songs, puppets, stories, games and make up…” Thank you for all those who walked with us during the Sunday morning rambles, as well as those who donated in exchange for an extra raffle tic...

€154,20 for Parkinson

The first 4 editions of our Charity Rambles on Sunday morning raised €154,20 for the Flemish Parkinson Liga. Thank you to everyone who joined Expat Club during our 4 pleasant walks that took us literally to four opposite corners of Brussels: The Northwest “Atomium” edition The Southeast “Cloître Rouge” edition The Southwest “Industry” edition (Electrabel Power Plant and the Audi Factory) The Northeast “Woluwe, Evere & Schaerbeek” edition For our next walks we again would like to raise money for a good cause.  This time the proceeds go to Hopi Clowns, a nonprofit association that entertains hospitalised children.
