Expat Club wants to be an international community that contributes positively to the lives of expats in Brussels and to the wider Brussels community. We often organise events that you would probably not do on your own, not in the least place because you may not speak Flemish or French. This is one of them.
During this 4-hours course you will learn the potentially life-saving technique of resuscitation. This is a specialised course that is finished with an official exam and therefore considerably more expensive, but we managed to keep the costs below €100 during the early-bird period. This training teaches you how to resuscitate (reanimation) and how to use a defibrillator. This is a hands-on course that will not only provide theory, but also requires you to practice a lot with the objective of preparing you for an official exam at the end of the course. If you pass the exam you will obtain an official diploma that is valid for 5 years.
During the training we’ll go over and practice the 4 steps of how to approach a casualty: safety, approach casualty, correctly alarming the emergency services and first aid, control of consciousness and breathing and to place the casualty in a stabile sideways position.

Our instructor will also pay specific attention to the use of an AED (automated external defibrillator) that can be found in many public places.

Who can join?
The minimum age for this event is 18 years. You are not required to have any previous knowledge or skills, but we do advise you to have already followed the first aid course that we regularly offer.
Location
We are meeting in the Expat Club offices in The Louise Center on Avenue Louise 279. You are welcome from 18h00, but we actually start at 18h30. Trams 93 and 94, bus 38 and 60, Vleurgat/Louise stop. And just a 5-8 minutes walking from tram 7 and 81, and bus 54 if you get off at Avenue Louise. The entrance is right across the tram stop.
