Overview
Imagine if something happens to a member of your family or a colleague, would you know what to do? What should you do when a child, your spouse or a friend becomes badly wounded? Can you take care of it yourself? Do you know how to secure the environment, so you can keep both yourself and the casualty safe? And would you know when to call a doctor, visit a hospital or call an ambulance?
Expat Club wants to positively contribute to the lives of expats in Brussels and to the wider local community. We often organise events that you would probably not do on your own, not in the least place because you may not speak Flemish or French. This event is one of them! Learn what to do in an emergency situation or in case there is an accident in and around the house, your office environment, in a public place or the sports club. This initiation course is a good way to increase your knowledge and self confidence when an emergency situation requires your immediate attention. An official trainer from the Flemish Red Cross will teach us the basics in English with a group of other expats in our office building on Avenue Louise. During this 3-hours course you will learn what you can do yourself, and when you should get professional help.
We are also organising a Red Cross CPR course on Wednesday 28 November ≫
Who can join?
Expat Club events are attended by singles, couples, retirees, groups of friends or colleagues, and families (minimum age for this event is 18 years). We welcome people from all over the world with a wide variety of backgrounds. Expat Club Membership is not required to join this training.
Do I need any previous experience?
You are not required to have any previous knowledge or skills. This training is for everyone. We can also strongly recommend taking the Red Cross CPR course that we regularly offer.
Where is it held?
We are meeting in the Expat Club offices in The Louise Center on Avenue Louise 279. You are welcome from 18h30, but we actually start at 19h00. Trams 8 and 94 stop at 1 minute walking (stop Vleurgat), but you can also take bus 38 and 60 (stop Louise). It is just a 5 to 8 minute walking from trams 7 and 81 (stops Louise), and bus 54. The Louise Center is the big building above the Carrefour (entrance 50 meters on right).
Are discounts available?
We offer a discount of €15 to students (all levels, including post-docs), officially registered unemployed people (not for expat spouses), and those on welfare. Send us an email at info@expatclub.org.
