About the keynote speech:
We live in a converging world, where industry boundaries are blurring and technologies and distinct knowledge bases are coming together.
The changes are well underway in a variety of different industries – pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, energy, financial services. And as industries converge, and seemingly unrelated businesses suddenly become rivals, the nature of competition is changing dramatically.
Today’s managers must understand the new challenges and the long-term implications.
INDUSTRY CONVERGENCE IS MAKING US RE-THINK STRATEGY & INNOVATION
In the relentless evolution of technology and markets, many companies are in the midst of major reconfigurations of their business models and the way they capture value. Not only are innovators and entrepreneurs constantly advancing the state-of-the-art through introducing new technologies, products or services, but also is the nature of competition dramatically changing. Disruptive power oftentimes originates more from industry outsiders than insiders, and it becomes an ever-increasing challenge to identify tomorrow’s competitors.
